What Was George Springer’s Injury?

Springer suffered a fractured toe on April 11.

The All-Star slugger hit a foul ball off his toe in the third inning of a game against the Minnesota Twins. Springer completed the plate appearance, but was replaced by Myles Straw when his spot in the order next came up.

How Long is Springer Out For?

Springer will miss at least 10 days after being placed on the 10-day IL on April 11.

There were initially concerns that Springer could miss several weeks, but John Schneider was optimistic that this would be a relatively brief IL stint.

On April 14, Springer was already moving better than he was over the weekend. Schneider also noted that the injury, which occurred earlier in the season, means the Jays and Springer can take their time to ensure he is fully rehabilitated before returning.

Did Springer Break His Toe?

Yes, Springer broke his toe on April 11.

A foul ball hit Springer on the foot, and the pain was immediately obvious. He joined Alejandro Kirk, Shane Bieber, and Cody Ponce on the injured list.
