What Is the Oldest NHL Arena?

Madison Square Garden is the oldest arena in the NHL.

Opened in 1968, the Garden is one of the most famous sports and entertainment venues in the world. The second-oldest barn, the Scotiabank Saddledome, opened 15 years after MSG.

It is purely coincidental that both teams with the oldest arenas are among those with the longest Stanley Cup odds at the BetMGM sportsbook

What is the Newest NHL Arena?

UBS Arena is the newest NHL Arena. Built adjacent to Belmont Park, it opened in November 2021 and can hold 17,255 fans, making it one of the smaller venues in the NHL.

Climate Pledge Arena, the second-newest building, is home to the Seattle Kraken and opened in October 2021. While it wasn’t an entirely new build, the $1.5 billion renovation places it in that category.
