1. Nathan Rourke
Rourke was at Ohio from 2017 to 2019 and played quarterback.
While there, over three seasons, he threw for 7,454 yards (third in program history) and 60 touchdowns (second).
He was also a dynamic dual threat, rushing for 2,639 yards (eighth) and 49 touchdowns (tied for first). He holds the single-season rushing touchdown record with 21 in 2017.
He’s the program’s all-time leader in total yards (10,093) and total touchdowns (111).
Rourke won the Jon Cornish Trophy twice (given to the best Canadian-born NCAA player), was first-team All-MAC, and was a second-team All-MAC member twice.
2. Kurtis Rourke
The younger Rourke, Kurtis, followed his brother, Nathan, and played at Ohio from 2019 to 2023 before concluding his career at Indiana in 2024.
He also played quarterback.
While at Ohio, he threw for 7,666 yards (second) and holds the top two single-game passing records, headlined by 537 yards in a 2022 game against Fordham.
He also tossed 50 touchdowns (third).
He was the MAC MVP, MAC Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-MAC, and second-team All-MAC.
3. Kalvin McRae
McRae played running back at Ohio from 2004 to 2007.
He ran for 4,398 yards (first) and 45 touchdowns (second).
Those rushing yards are also good enough to rank 10th among total yards.
His 45 touchdowns rank seventh in total touchdowns.
He was All-MAC three times, was a member of the Rivals.com All-MAC team twice, and was the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.
4. Tarell Basham
Basham played defensive end for Ohio from 2013 to 2016.
He recorded 29.5 sacks, which is the most in program history. In fact, no one else even has 20.
He had 11.5 in 2016, which is a single-season record.
He was the MAC Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-MAC, and was a freshman All-American.
5. Dave Zastudil
Finishing off this list, I have to give some love to Zastudil, a punter.
He was a first-team All-American and the MAC Special Teams Player of the Year twice.
Over his career, he averaged 44.6 yards per punt. He led the MAC twice and, in 2021, was second in all of college football in punting yards per punt.
