Having one of the richest NFL owners doesn’t ensure a team will be priced among the Super Bowl favourites in the NFL betting markets at the BetMGM sportsbook, but who are the wealthiest NFL owners currently?

The list includes new Seahawks owner Vinod Khosla.

Wealthiest NFL Owners

1. Walton-Penner Group, Denver Broncos: $121.3 billion

The Broncos were purchased in 2022 by the Walton-Penner ownership group. The group is led by Robert Walton, the heir to Walmart, and Greg Penner, as well as Carrie Walton Penner. 

Walton himself has a net worth of $121.3 billion. 

2. Hunt Family, Kansas City Chiefs: $24.8 billion

The wealth within the Hunt family dates back to H.L. Hunt, who generated wealth in the oil and gas industry. 

He had 14 children, including Lamar Hunt, who founded the Chiefs. Today, his son, Clark, is the CEO. 

3. Stan Kroenke, Los Angeles Rams: $24.3 billion

Kroenke owns several professional sports teams, including the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids, Colorado Avalanche, and Arsenal Football Club. 

4. David Tepper, Carolina Panthers: $23.7 billion

Tepper is a hedge fund manager who bought the Panthers in 2018 for $2.8 billion. 

Tepper also owns Charlotte FC.

5. Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys: $18 billion

Jones generated his wealth via oil drilling, striking oil in 12 of his first 13 wells under the company Jones Oil and Land Lease. 

He purchased the Cowboys for $150 million in 1989. 

6. Stephen Ross, Miami Dolphins: $15.8 billion

Before purchasing the Dolphins, Ross was a tax attorney and founded Related Companies, which initially focused on developing affordable housing. 

Ross also holds shares in other companies, such as SoulCycle and Equinox Fitness. 

7. Shahid Khan, Jacksonville Jaguars: $15.3 billion

Before purchasing the Jaguars in 2012, Khan, an engineer, made his money after buying Flex-N-Gate, an auto parts supplier based in Illinois, in 1980. 

8. Robert Kraft, New England Patriots: $13.8 billion

Before buying the Patriots in 1994, Kraft earned his wealth as the owner of Rand-Whitney and International Forest Products. 

9. Vinod Khosla, Seattle Seahawks: $13.2 billion

Vinod Khosla and his wife bought the Seattle Seahawks from the Paul Allen Trust for more than $9 billion in 2026

10. Josh Harris, Washington Commanders: $13 billion

Harris not only owns the Commanders, but is also a managing partner for the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and NHL’s New Jersey Devils.

He generated his wealth through various involvements in companies such as Drexel Burnham Lambert, Apollo Global Management, and 26North. 

11. Glazer Family, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $12 billion

The original owner in the Glazer family was Malcolm, a real estate mogul, who bought the team in 1995. He passed away in 2014, and his family inherited the Buccaneers. 

12. Woody and Christopher Johnson, New York Jets: $11.2 billion

Both Woody and Christopher are the great-grandsons of Robert Wood Johnson and the heirs to Johnson & Johnson. 

13. Arthur Blank, Atlanta Falcons: $10.5 billion

Blank co-founded Home Depot in the late 1970s. He bought the Falcons for $545 million in 2002. 

14. Terry and Kim Pegula, Buffalo Bills: $9.3 billion

Terry sold his company, East Resources, to Royal Dutch Shell for $4.7 billion. He and his wife purchased the Bills for $1.4 billion in 2013, following their acquisition of the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL three years earlier. 

15. Jimmy and Dee Haslam, Cleveland Browns: $9 billion

Jimmy Haslam is the CEO of Pilot Flying J. He purchased the Browns in 2012 for $990 million. 

He also owns the Milwaukee Bucks.

16. Steve Bisciotti, Baltimore Ravens: $8.4 billion

Bisciotti and cousin Jim Davis founded a company in 1983 that is now known as Allegis Group. 

After growing it to a massive staffing firm, Bisciotti bought 49% of the team in 2000 and bought the remaining 51% from Art Modell for $325 million four years later. 

17. Gayle Benson, New Orleans Saints: $7.9 billion

Benson inherited the team after her husband, Tom Benson, passed away in 2018. 

18. Jeffrey Lurie, Philadelphia Eagles: $7.6 billion

Before purchasing the Eagles in 1994, Lurie attempted to buy the New England Patriots in 1993. He earned his wealth by joining General Cinema Corporation and founding Chestnut Hill Productions. 

19. McNair Family, Houston Texans: $7.3 billion

Bob McNair made his money by selling Cogen Technologies in 1999.

His wife, Janice, owned the Houston Texans until she passed away in July 2026.

20. Jed York and Denise DeBartolo York, San Francisco 49ers: $6.7 billion

Jed is the principal owner. He is the son of Denise, who is the granddaughter of Edward J. DeBartolo Sr., who bought the 49ers in 1977. 

21. Irsay Family, Indianapolis Colts: $4.8 billion

Following Jim Irsay’s passing in May 2025, his three daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson, assumed ownership. 

Jim inherited the team from his father, Robert. 

22. Amy Adams Strunk, Tennessee Titans: $2.8 billion

Her father, Bud Adams, generated his wealth in the petroleum business before becoming the founder of the Houston Oilers (now the Titans) and a co-founder of the AFL. 

23. Dean Spanos, Los Angeles Chargers: $2.4 billion

Dean’s father, Alex, founded A.G. Spanos Companies, a company specializing in apartment development. 

24. Mark Davis, Las Vegas Raiders: $2.3 billion

Davis and his mother, Carol, inherited the team following Al Davis’ passing in 2011. 

25. John Mara and Steve Tisch, New York Giants: $2.1 billion (combined)

The Giants are 50-50 owned by the Mara and Tisch families. 

The “faces” of the ownership group are John Mara, a former labour lawyer, and Steve Tisch, a movie producer whose father, Bob, co-founded Loews Corporation. 

26. Sheila Ford Hamp, Detroit Lions: $2 billion

Ford Hamp is the great-granddaughter of Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company, and she took over in 2020 after her mother, Martha, stepped down. 

27. Michael Bidwill, Arizona Cardinals: $1.4 billion

Bidwill’s grandfather, Charles Bidwill Sr., bought the team in 1932, and Michael joined the team in 1996 after spending time as a federal prosecutor. 

28. Zygi Wilf, Minnesota Vikings: $1.3 billion

The Wilf family owns Garden Homes, and Zygi specifically was an attorney before becoming the head of one of their affiliate companies, Garden Commercial Properties. 

29. McCaskey Family, Chicago Bears: $1.3 billion

Virginia McCaskey owned the team until her passing in February 2025 at the age of 102. Her father, George Halas, bought the Bears in 1920. 

30. Art Rooney II, Pittsburgh Steelers: $1.2 billion

Rooney Sr., Rooney II’s grandfather, founded the Steelers in 1933. Rooney II took over the team from his father, Dan, after Dan’s passing in 2017. 

31. Mike Brown, Cincinnati Bengals: $925 million

Brown took control of the Bengals after his father, Paul Brown, the former Cleveland Browns head coach and founder of the Bengals, passed away in 1991. 

32. Green Bay Packers, Green Bay Packers: N/A

Since 1923, the Packers have been a nonprofit and publicly owned corporation.
