Jumping from the CFL to the NFL is no easy task, and the players who successfully make the transition usually impact their team’s CFL betting odds at the BetMGM sportsbook.

How Many CFL Players Make it to the NFL?
During the offseason before the 2025 CFL season, 19 players earned NFL workouts. Seven of those individuals signed NFL contracts.
In the offseason leading into the 2026 campaign, 23 players were invited to work out with NFL teams. Of those players, nine signed reserve/future contracts.
With over 400 CFL players, about 2% signed NFL contracts in 2025 and 2026. It’s estimated that the overall historic average is between 1% and 5%.
The following players signed NFL contracts last offseason:
- Wide receiver Damien Alford (New Orleans Saints)
- Defensive back Robert Carter Jr. (Indianapolis Colts)
- Punter Nik Constantinou (Cleveland Browns)
- Defensive tackle Jaylon Hutchings (Minnesota Vikings)
- Wide receiver Dohnte Meyers (Cincinnati Bengals)
- Defensive end Jose Ramirez (Philadelphia Eagles)
- Linebacker Jacob Roberts (Vikings)
- Linebacker Devin Veresuk (Colts)
- Wide receiver Isaiah Wooden (Browns).
Alford, Hutchings, and Wooden have since been released.
Alford is a free agent, Hutchings plays for the Calgary Stampeders, and Wooden plays for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
