The UFC’s continual growth is solidly evidenced by its gate revenue. The top five highest UFC gates were headlined by Conor McGregor and Alex Pereira with the former having three and the latter securing the other two. See the full list below.

Top 5 Highest UFC Gates

1. UFC 205 – $17,700,000

First on the list is UFC 205, which took place in November 2016 inside Madison Square Garden. The card was headlined by the champion-versus-champion clash between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title.

Fittingly, the card ended in history fashion, as “The Notorious” defeated “The Underground King” to become the first two-division champion in UFC history. The official gate for the event was $17.7 million. Other UFC stars who competed on the card were Tyron Woodley, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, and Yoel Romero.

2. UFC 229 – $17,188,895

The animosity and bad blood between McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov culminated in a UFC lightweight title match in October 2018 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This produced the second-highest gate in the promotion’s history with $17.1 million.

Eventually, Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor in the fourth round to retain his championship, but the event ended in the most infamous way, as a massive brawl occurred after the main event, as both camps went against each other inside the arena.

3. UFC 300 – $16,508,823

UFC 300 has been the Las Vegas-based promotion’s biggest event in history. The card is stacked with world champions and exciting fighters competing from top to bottom. The event was headlined by the UFC light heavyweight title match between Pereira and Jamahal Hill at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Pereira made quick work of Hill in the opening round and knocked him out to remain as the best 205-pound fighter in the world. The official gate for this historic event was $16.5 million. Apart from Pereira and Hill, Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Zhang Weili were also included on the card.

4. UFC 303 – $15,909,243

Three events after successfully defending his light heavyweight belt, Pereira once again headlined another massive card in June 2024 at UFC 303, where he faced Jiří Procházka for the second time in his UFC career.

Pereira once again solidified his status as the best light heavyweight MMA fighter in the world by knocking out Procházka in the second round of their title showdown. This spectacular performance by the Brazilian superstar has produced the fourth-highest gate in UFC history with $15.9 million.

5. UFC 264 – $15,759,800

The third meeting between longtime rivals McGregor and Dustin Poirier occurred in July 2021. With their head-to-head score even at one, their third fight ended in an anticlimactic way because McGregor broke his leg at the end of the first round.

This injury prompted the referee and the doctors to stop the fight in favour of “The Diamond,” and despite the inconclusive result, the event still generated the fifth-highest gate in UFC history with $15.7 million.
