The Chicago Fire’s MLS odds were the only ones among the 10 favourites to shorten after Matchday 19, thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s two goals on his home debut, the last of which was the game-winner in the 2-1 victory over Charlotte FC.

The Fire are up to sixth on the MLS odds leaderboard at the BetMGM sportsbook, with Inter Miami leading the way. The Vancouver Whitecaps have the third-shortest odds after tying LAFC 1-1 at BC Place, trading just behind Sunday’s opponents.

MLS Cup Prediction: Who Will Win the MLS Cup in 2026?

I predict Inter Miami will win the MLS Cup in 2026.

The Herons dropped their first points in seven matches, with Columbus Crew taking a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Nu Stadium. Lionel Messi is back in the fold, entering the fray off the bench in the 52nd minute.

With Casemiro’s arrival, Inter Miami has a top-tier asset at each position. With Messi still at a version resembling his best, that should be enough to secure their second straight championship.

MLS Cup Favourites

Despite dominating LAFC in every statistical category, the Whitecaps were unable to secure all three points against the team I expect them to face in the Western Conference final.

Son Heung-Min scored his fourth goal in as many games on a fast break, putting the visitors up 1-0. Thomas Müller equalized on a 76th-minute penalty, locking in the Whitecaps’ second straight draw.

LAFC and the Whitecaps are tied atop the Western Conference with 34 points, with the sliding San Jose Earthquakes one point adrift.

League leaders and the team with the fourth-shortest odds, Nashville SC, let a 2-0 lead slip on the road. D.C. United scored in the 56th and 77th minutes to impressively snatch a share of the spoils.

CF Montreal also found a way back from two goals down, tying New England at home to make it three draws in the previous five matches. Toronto FC, meanwhile, extended its winless streak to 12 matches with a 1-1 draw on the road against New York City FC.

Only Austin FC and Sporting Kansas City have longer odds to win it all than CF Montreal and Toronto FC.
